Macrium Reflect Is Taking A Long Time To Create An Image
I installed the latest version of Macrium Reflect and used all the default settings to make the backup. Other computers I am afraid it may have to be the long way round. I will at this point ask you to try it and see if your external hard drive is found. I chose instead to use the paid app Acronis True Image.

Just to demonstrate how unprdictable this is, right after making the original post, I started the same imaging task again and it immediately ran at the full expected transfer rate.Thanks again check my blog It has about 1TB worth of files on it. Now for Macrium reflect itself, and also the CD or DVD required. I used to use Acronis like Ted and was pleased with it also, I just figured why pay for an update when I can use Macrium for Free. On a data drive where the information does not change, the incremental should be even faster. One easy way of making the right adjustment here is to click on the "maximum size" button.Macrium Reflect will then start the cloning process which it does while Windows is running.

On my current laptop, which has SATA II ports, it takes a little over three and a half hours. Although we advise you to have enough space for the whole drive, in reality the disk likely isn't full and compression will buy you some wiggle room.
Does this happen only with Macrium or will this be a problem with all imaging software? I also use the commercial Acronis True Image, which compresses the same install to 14.3 GB. I just wanted to see if the time sound right.
