The Lenovo has great build quality, but is heavier and has a shorter battery life than the Dell. It’s more expensive than our top pick and more difficult to upgrade, and the i7 processor doesn’t provide a notable performance advantage over the cheaper model. While the laptop is in BIOS observe if it will still flicker because if it does it could also the display itself. I'll post my findings when I get mine some use permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]mikel0181[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago(0 children)You're very welcome! What I did was install Intel's (Intel Rapid Storage Technology app).
In order for me to get it to 78C I had to run a game that taxed the cpu and gpu concurrently.
It lacks the metal lid of the Asus and Lenovo laptops we tested, but the Dell feels sturdy and doesn’t feel hollow or creak under pressure like the MSI GE62 Apache. Eventually an equilibrium point is reached where the fans are blowing fast enough to keep the laptop cool. Then do a registery clean, you can backup when it prompts you just in case. 10) use ccleaner to uninstall any of those windows store apps that it didn't let you You may want to hold off for a few months for new announcements or price drops.

I apologize for the late reply. The Lenovo has a Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 128GB solid-state drive, a 1TB hard drive, and a more comfortable keyboard that stays cooler during long gaming sessions. While the laptop is in BIOS observe if it will still flicker because if it does it could also the display itself. I don't game much on it(I have a desktop that does that) and I really like everything about the laptop....except the battery life.
A gaming laptop’s graphics card and processor produce a lot of heat. The step 2 Intel thing did nothing to help, and I don't seem to have panel self refresh settings in my Intel control center. We tested to find out which laptop was the least bad at cooling without drowning out the speakers with loud fans. It seems to have helped in reducing the flickering.
Cheaper cards (like the GTX 950M) are available in laptops costing $700 or less but aren’t powerful enough to justify the savings. The Asus ROG GL552VW has a great screen, keyboard, and trackpad, and quiet fans that kept the laptop’s underside cool in all our tests. Dell offers a one-year limited warranty. Just give it a little wiggle room, they don’t have to open themselves up to monetary losses, they just need to be a little lenient and work with us.
Thank you, by the way, for your incredible in-depth writeups on the Y700. many solutions i have found are exclusively for the y50 and will NOT work for a y70 due to the way it is physically built.
