Laptop Wont Turn On


I opened up my laptop (actually to replace heat sink fan ) and found that the connector is soldered on small pcb. But after turning the laptop upside down it worked! why does it do this? we then popped the case back closed, replaced screws and put the hard drive, ram, DVD player/burner and battery back in and now it won't even turn on. What are those voltages, drain, source and gate. Does anyone know how to fix it?
