At this point I preformed every troubleshooting procedure I could think of:> I plugged the machine into an external monitor to see if my screen was bad. I have reset the screensaver settings on both machines but my screensaver won't start. Booting into Windows Safe Mode often requires holding down or repeatedly pressing the F8 key during the POST, the process your computer goes through before it boots into Windows. Even moreso certain models.
Please help me find it. Still, your guide is very good and useful, unless my case happens… KJS Had the same problem with a new Dell computer I got 5 days ago. I have also disabled automatic updates. Since both of you said that youhave tried the F8 method without positive results, my guess is that you do not have the Recovery folder intact.

It was strange as they where not explaining it clear to me to I went out and baffled about how it was broken but hey it's fixed now.So I suggest check Evan, how can we know which updates to install and that won't hurt our PCs? I used safe mode with networking and was able to follow the link to a helpful note online that explained this same process.
